Insulation removal and replacement in Bell County, TX
Old, wet, moldy or pest damaged insulation vacuumed out and hauled away, then replaced with fresh insulation at the right depth.

When the old insulation has to go
Most of the time, new insulation can go right on top of the old. Sometimes it cannot. Insulation that has been soaked by a roof leak, grown mold, been nested in by rodents or soaked up smoke after a fire does not insulate well, can smell, and can hold contaminants you do not want above your ceiling.
We remove it with a high powered insulation vacuum that runs from the attic straight to a truck or collection bags outside, so the material never travels through your living space. Once the attic is clear, we can seal air leaks while the floor is open, then install fresh insulation at the right depth.
Removal is also a smart first step before a full attic air sealing job, when you want to start clean.
- Vacuum removal straight to the truck or sealed bags
- Debris and droppings cleared from the attic floor
- Air sealing while the attic floor is open
- New insulation blown in or sprayed to the right depth
- Free inspection and a written price before work starts
Signs the old insulation should come out
Water stains or roof leaks
Wet insulation loses most of its value and can grow mold.
Rodent or pest activity
Droppings, nests and tunnels mean the insulation should be replaced.
Smoke or fire damage
Smoke odor stays in insulation long after a fire is out.
Musty smell from the attic
A persistent smell usually points to moisture or contamination.
If your insulation is just thin or compressed but dry and clean, you probably do not need removal. A blown in top up costs less.

What removal costs
Removal is priced by attic size, how much material is up there, access and how much cleanup is needed. Because those vary so much from one attic to the next, we price removal after a free inspection, and we always quote removal and the new insulation together so you see the full number.

Removal questions
Does the old insulation come through my house?
- No. The vacuum hose runs from the attic to the truck or bags outside.
How long does removal take?
- Most attics take a day. Larger or heavily contaminated attics can take longer.
Do you handle pest problems too?
- We remove the damaged insulation and debris. Have a pest control company deal with the pests first so they do not move into the new insulation.
Is old insulation dangerous?
- Most is not. Some very old homes have vermiculite insulation, which can contain asbestos. If we see it, we stop and recommend testing before anyone disturbs it.
